As a watercolor painter, my journey has been deeply influenced by my passion for advocacy, and as a queer man living (and thriving) with HIV, I feel it is important for me to support marginalized communities. My art is my voice, through which I protest capitalism, celebrate diversity, and honor our beautiful Earth.
Puma Love is a queer, HIV-positive, outsider artist and lavender farmer. In a previous life iteration, Puma was an attorney for twelve years in North Carolina. His law practice was focused on public service and criminal defense, especially for indigent people who couldn't afford a lawyer. In his late thirties, Puma resigned his practice of law and began following his dreams. He planted a field of lavender and began a regular practice of creating art. Puma farmed lavender on a large scale for eight years — first at Old Field Lavender Farm and then at Spiral Mountain Farm. For the last approximately five years, Puma has lived the majority of the year in a teardrop camper he named, "One Love." In the winter months, Puma engages a nomadic lifestyle, someplace warm, with his trusty sidekick of over a decade — Bella, a Jack Russell terrier mix. Recently, Puma has become TEFL certified and may soon travel overseas to teach English. He creates art to protest capitalism, to celebrate diversity, and to honor the Earth.

This is "One Love," a teardrop camper that has been Puma's home during the warm seasons for most of the last approximately five years. Believe it or not, it's cozy and comfortable!
